Card Dealer Tower Guide

Card Dealer received community attention after a rework showcase paired with a solo Hardcore clear on Tortilla Tower in TDS: Reforged. When Vince Games reshapes a support or hybrid tower, players either overreact (“dead forever”) or overinvest (“replace Enforcer tonight”). This page keeps you in the middle: study the video, assign a role, change one slot.

Role after the rework

Treat Card Dealer as a flex / support-leaning piece until your own logs say otherwise. Reworks can shift damage, utility, or economy contribution. Compare it against your current support slot and against premium carries on the Overall Tier List and Hardcore Tier List. Do not assume Paradoxum card-themed units behave the same—see Vs Official TDS.

How to study the showcase video

The embedded DatJaneIzFake! clip covers Card Dealer rework showcase + solo Hardcore on Tortilla Tower. First watch: what problem does Card Dealer solve on that map? Second watch: when is it placed, what is sold, and which towers fund the late game? Write three timestamps in a notepad next to the Loadout Planner.

If the showcase looks broken-strong, assume patches may follow—re-check Live Status and Patch Notes after the 13 Aug 2026 update window and any later bumps.

Enabling Card Dealer in a real loadout

  1. Keep a boring early defender—Card Dealer is rarely your wave-1 answer.
  2. Fund with Economy & Cash habits and group +$100.
  3. Pair with control from Slowing Towers when enemies must stay in range.
  4. Leave a true late carry available: Enforcer, Golden Minigunner, or mode specialists like Golden Toxic Gunner.
  5. Practice sells/targeting in Controls so utility towers do not steal APM from the carry.

Hardcore testing plan

Use Solo Hardcore as the exam, not a random specialty wipe. Swap only the flex slot to Card Dealer. Run the Wave Checklist. Log leak wave versus your previous flex. If you improve clear rate, keep it; if you stall economy, revert. Speedrunners on Hardcore Speedrun should only adopt Card Dealer after triumphs are stable—new tools add decision time.

Mode fit

  • Standard / Hardcore — primary test bed (Tortilla Tower showcase energy).
  • Enraged — bring only if utility still lands under pressure; see Enraged Mode.
  • Casino — flexibility matters; see Casino Mode.
  • Polluted routes — compare against toxic specialists before forcing Card Dealer.
  • Customs — great sandbox via Custom Gamemode before ranked grind.

Co-op

Announce Card Dealer as support/flex so nobody else brings a duplicate utility while the lane lacks DPS. Co-op role calls prevent four “interesting” towers and zero income.

Rework hype fades; logged clear rates do not.

Session log template

After the rework showcase, write: placement wave, sell wave, and whether Card Dealer funded the carry or stole cash from it. Keep Enforcer as the control carry until three clean Hardcore clears prove the flex swap is real. Re-check Live Status if creator hype spikes overnight.
